The Treun Project
Have you ever wanted to design and build your own home?
This is exactly what Matt Chernishov, Director and Project Manager of Treun Project Management, and his wife have done. They have created a truly bespoke family home, designed and managed by himself.
They bought the old house about two and a half years ago with the view to renovating, subdividing and building the new house in the backyard.
They really wanted a nice sleek, black ply kitchen, but nothing on the NZ market really sparked their excitement, so Matt designed and built it himself.
Someone had recommended the Cutshop® to Matt before, so he decided to make contact with us to get the cutting done.
We had one sample cabinet made, refined it and then had the rest of the project cut. What started as just the kitchen ended up being the bathroom vanities and laundry too!
He came to us with some very precise requirements and expectations and was pleased that we could get done technically what he wanted to get done.
As a technical type of person with attention for detail, Matt was very specific about the junction detailing and functionality of the finished product.
Matt found Dave and Debbie from Cutshop® North Shore really easy to work with.
Matt loves the finished product and has learnt loads through the process of designing and building his own home.
When asked what his favourite features of the European high pressure laminated ply kitchen are, for him and his wife the drawers were the winner.
The finished home is a stunning combination of industrial black, the warmth of natural wood flooring, and making the most of the natural light with large windows.
Matt has made clever use of the land space to create a bespoke home for himself and his family, one that is truly show-stopping!
