Fresh bathroom renovation

Four years ago, Linda and Dominique returned to New Zealand after spending some time overseas in India and France. Upon their return, they searched long and hard for a property to purchase that would be suitable to host both them and Linda’s parents.

Finding a property that would give them enough room to live harmoniously, and be practical for different needs, was a task in itself.

After eventually finding a place to buy, with not much of a background in renovations but experience in building, Linda and Dominique felt comfortable enough to take the reins when it came to reinventing some of the spaces - including their bathroom - inside their new home, but it did, admittedly, take a while to start the process.

The bathroom was really old - 35 years to be precise, and it hasn’t had any upgrades in that time!

Cutshop® Upgrading vanities and lifestyle

Removing the bath was a top priority, as it wasn’t serving their lifestyle. They wanted to replace it with a washing machine and dryer, which would not only be more practical but also free up more space elsewhere in the house. They, of course, had thought of more ways to transform the space.

When it came to researching who could help them bring their ideas to life, their specifications were very precise and they’d envisioned exactly what they wanted to achieve. After months playing around with ideas, sifting through cabinet specialists and deciding on the kinds of wood they liked, they came across Cutshop® and everything took shape from there.

Designs taking shape

They spoke with Bryce at Cutshop® North Shore and showed him some rough sketches of their ideas, which were then milled over and turned into higher-end designs that could be materialised. Everything came together so well that at the last minute, they added some suspended cabinets for the toilet room on top of their initial designs.

The flatpack was organised efficiently and before long it was installed and making life a lot easier in their household.  Linda explained that the whole process ran very smoothly and they were very happy to achieve exactly what they set out to do.

It’s clean-looking, and matches the house well. It’s very functional, which was a tricky thing to achieve in such a small place. We’re absolutely thrilled!
— Linda

When asked if she would consider working with Cutshop® again in the future, Linda expressed that she would love to do the whole kitchen, so it’s safe to say she was happy with the results!
